Biomass plastic or biobased plastic resins iGreen BI70 are made from plants, which remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere while growing. This carbon is then stored in the material throughout its life cycle. Plants absorb carbon dioxide as they grow, and by following the carbon neutrality concept. Therefore, even if biomass/biobased plastics are incinerated and emit carbon dioxide, the total amount of carbon dioxide absorbed during growth and the total amount of carbon dioxide emitted during incineration is plus or minus zero, making them highly carbon neutral.
